During this webinar, Dr. Hong will discuss advances and evidence in treatment of obesity, focusing on surgical options, as found in the recently published Canadian Guidelines for Adult Obesity. In particular, Dr. Hong will introduce how surgical options should be identified based on patients' needs, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and based on risks, benefits and side-effects.

Dr. Dennis Hong MD, MS.c, FRCSC, FACS
Dr. Dennis Hong is an associate professor in the Department of Surgery at McMaster University. He specializes in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. Dr. Hong received his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1996 after which he completed his residency in Surgery at McMaster University Medical Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. He also completed a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at the Legacy Health System in Portland, Oregon. He joined the Department of Surgery at McMaster University in 2010.
